Business Concentrations

Moody College of Business Administration students have the option to add a concentration to their major. Concentrations allow you to customize your degree and enhance your career opportunities. Each major has specific concentrations available to choose from according to your degree path.

Required Courses

Concentrations require a minimum of 12 credit hours. All course prerequisites, corequisites and restrictions apply. Courses are subject to change.

Request a Business Concentration

Business Majors: Contact the Moody Business Office of Student Services (, MX 236) for assistance. When emailing, send request from your official University email address ( and include your ULID, name, and the specific concentration to be added.

NOTE: A request to add a concentration will change your catalog year to the most recent catalog for your degree program, and all requirements under that catalog must be met to complete the major and concentration for the degree program.

Non-Business Majors: Business concentrations are not available for non-business majors.

About Moody Business Concentrations

Business Analytics

The Business Analytics concentration provides students the skills needed to make data-driven strategic business decisions in competitive marketplaces. Students learn conceptual design and implementation of database systems, statistical analysis, data mining, and reporting insights. 

Human Resource Management

The Human Resource Management concentration incoporates knowledge and skills of that contribute to the successful operation of an organization including employee relations, recruitment and hiring, legal regulations, and compensation management. Students also participate in an internship in human resource management. An MBA in Human Resource Management is also available to further your area of expertise after earning your undergraduate degree. 

International Business

The International Business concentration provides students the opportunity to gain global business insights. Students choose from a variety of international business courses, internataional electives including foreign languages or participate in the Study Abroad program. Learn more.

Legal Studies

The Legal Studies concentration provides students a foundation in the dynamic legal world in which businesses operate including dispute resolution, contracts, employment law, consumer protection, and securities regulations. 

Professional Sales

The Professional Sales concentration helps students develop a variety of sales skills including personal selling, sales management, negotiation and conflict resolution, and business-to-business marketing. Students utilize the Northwestern Mutual Sales and Research Lab for role playing and development of effective sales techniques. We also offer an MBA in Sales Leadership to further your area of expertise after earning your undergraduate degree.
